72 Hour Film Challenge

Calling anyone who wants to help make a 10 minute film in 72 hours. We'll need crew, actors, editors and composers.

If you want to make a short film and have the instant gratification of seeing it as part of a film festival the next day, come join us!

The Brick, a local theater in Brooklyn, is organizing a 72 hour film challenge, and we want to be a part of it!

Web Video Production

Every month we'll create and promote a short video explicitly made for the web

Much like the monthly film screenings we used to have and the short play festivals people have proposed we will get together and start production on a series of short videos expressly made for web distribution. Web video has its shortcomings but it is still hot right now. If you have a great idea lets put it out there and see what happens.

Plus, one of the big benefits is that, once we get started, we'll get from idea to shoot to final product very quickly.

I first saw this on the extras section of the 'El Mariachi' DVD. I was amazed and inspired then and am so glad to find it on you tube where anybody can watch it at any time. If you've been kicking around an idea for a film and need a kick in the pants to get started check these out.

This book is written by Stu Maschwitz is a great overview of production tips and tricks that will take you low budget project to another level. The book focuses on what the average person can do given a little time to get the best bang for the buck out of production and post production.  It has great how-to's for special effects you can do at home that you would expect to cost a lot more.  It frames the advice for action films but is really appropriate for projects in all genres.
